Josh Grab’s a Sixth Place Finish at Delaware
Delmar, Delaware (November 3, 2007)
Saturday night Josh participated in the Delaware State Championship races at Delaware International, in Scott McClarens’ number 21. After not having any practice Josh went out and started on the pole position in his heat race. Ed Aiken jumped to the early lead, but Josh stayed with him during the first few laps of the heat race. About half way into the heat, one of Ed’s rear tires started going down and Josh was able to pass him for the lead. Josh held on to finish in the first position and had a decent lead over the second place car. In the feature event Josh started in the 11th position, per URC rules due to a driver change Josh was unable to start in the 3rd position which he earned winning the third heat race. Josh got off to a great start in the feature event and was up to 8th when the first caution flew on lap thirteen. By the next caution on lap 22 Josh had made it into the 6th position. Josh was having a great race, but was unable to get past the 5th place car, mainly do to a very slick one lane track. Josh was running a strong in the 6th position when the checkered flag fell on lap 25. The race ended just in time as the right rear tire was worn down to the cords when Josh came in. When Josh went to the scales after the race a stone in the pits made a hole in the tire and the tire went flat.
