A Trip Down South Brings Home Two Top 5’s

            Thursday night Josh and the team left for a two race weekend starting in North Carolina at Carolina Speedway and Saturday at Travlers Rest Speedway in South Carolina.  Friday nights event started off with time trials, which Josh timed sixth fastest.  Off the invert from time trials Josh started in the 2nd position in his heat race.  On the start Josh jumped out to the early led and never looked back as he led the eight lap event and took the checkered flag.  In the feature even Josh started in the fifth position (the top four were inverted from time trials).  About five laps into the race Josh dropped out with drive line problems.  He was credited with a twelfth place finish Friday night.  The team worked late into the night and got the car fixed for Saturday’s event. 

            Saturday morning/afternoon the car was on display at Carolina Fine Foods before the evenings racing event.  Josh met fans from the Carolina’s and signed some autographs. 

            Saturday night’s race brought two twenty lap features for the sprinters.  The race was lined up off a draw which placed Josh in the sixth starting position.  In the closing laps as Josh was coming up on the leaders, lap traffic became an issue and bunched up the top five cars. In fight for the lead Josh got held up with a couple of slower lapped cars and got held up and fell back to the 4th position.  Josh held on for a fourth place finish.  In the second feature of the night, Josh started in the ninth position.  After a bad start Josh slid backwards a few spots, only to come forward once again and finish in the fifth position.
