The 2011 Season is Underway
April 9, 2011; Mertztown, PA . . .
Saturday night April 9, URC kicked off its season with the opener at Bridgeport Speedway. Josh made the trip to Bridgeport, but not in his family owned number 63, but rather the Scott McClaren owned 21, for the evenings event. In the heat race Josh started in the sixth position and was in a qualifying fourth place when a spin with two laps two go forced Josh to restart last. Josh made some passes in the last two laps, but came up one car short of qualifying for the feature event. With finishing seventh this gave him a third place starting spot in the nights B-Main event. In the B-Main Josh jumped out into the early lead and won the race in a dominating style with almost a straight-away led by the time the checkered flag fell. Josh also had the fastest time of the night in the B main.
By winning the B-Main this gave Josh a twenty-first starting position in the feature event. Josh was having a great run in the feature and had gotten himself just outside the top ten, when a right rear tire got cut down on the 21 sprinter. Josh got the car into the pits, but repairs were unable to be made by the time the race restarted. Josh was credited with a twenty-second place finish.
