A Double Race Weekend Gives Josh Identical
Finishes
Selinsgrove, PA (7/21/2007) . . .
Friday night prompted a trip up to the Big Diamond Raceway in Minersville, PA for the Weller Racing Team. By not competing in the last two URC sanctioned events, Josh was made to start his heat race in the 10th position. Josh took this challenge and managed to find his way to a 6th place finish, which qualified him for the feature, by the end of the heat race. Finishing 6th gave Josh a 16th place starting spot in the feature event. Despite rough and dusty track conditions, which caused limited visibility for the drivers, Josh held on for an 18th place finish in.
Saturday night had Josh and the team making the trek out to Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, PA. Once again still being penalized for missing events, Josh started his heat race in the 10th position. Unfortunately he was not able to advance in the heat race, because of limited passing in the event. This then placed Josh into the B-Main where he had a 5th place starting spot. As Josh was making a pass for the fourth position, the fourth place car got loose and spun in the third turn. Josh did make it past, however the 6th place car was no so lucky and made contact with the spinning car. This then only left six cars remaining on the speedway and the event was checkered, so all cars qualified. Josh started Saturday night’s feature event in the 22nd position and advanced four spots for an 18th place finish in the event.
This weekend, July 27-29, 2007, the team will be taking a weekend off. They will however return to action again August 3, 2007, at the Williams Grove Speedway. This race was rained out June 8, 2007 and will be rerun this night. Josh timed 10th out of 50 plus cars.
