Josh Competes at the Historic Orange County
Speedway
Middletown, NY (8/11/2007) . . .
The Weller Racing Team made the two and a half hour trip up to Middletown, NY this past weekend to compete in the URC event held at Orange County Speedway. Josh started his #63 in the 2nd position for the third heat race of the evening. Josh battled for the lead and made several attempts to take over the top spot during the eight lap event, but was unable to do so. However Josh did bring home a 2nd place finish, which would give him a 5th place starting position in the twenty-five lap feature event.
Josh started the feature event in the 5th position and battled with Trevor Lewis for a few laps, who had eventually made the pass to move Josh back to the 6th position. While Josh was battling with Scott Purcell, the 7th place contender, of Ed Aiken, was able to make a past Josh. Just a few laps later Josh was able to make the pass on the then 6th place car. Josh was gaining on the 5th place car of Jason Clauss when a late race caution was displayed and wiped away the chance of catching the other car under the green. On the restart with two lapped cars in front of Josh, he passed the lapped cars and made an attempt at passing the 5th place car he was held up and Curt Michael was able to make the pass on Josh around the outside. When the checkered flag fell Josh was credited with a 7th place finishing position.
